An international convention centre would be built at the Pondicherry University at a cost of Rs 46 crore.
Foundation stone for the centre would be laid by India’s Ambassador to the United States, Ms Nirupama Rao, on May 18, the University Vice-Chancellor, Mr J.A.K. Tareen, said in a release.
The convention centre would have a capacity to have 2,500 seats and meeting halls.
