The Finance Ministry has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on sodium nitrate imports from China, EU, Ukraine and South Korea. This anti-dumping duty will be valid for a period of five years.
The revenue department move follows final findings of the Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry in November last year.

Korea was filed by Deepak Nitrite Ltd.
Sodium Nitrate is a white solid that is soluble in water. This is derived as a co-product in the manufacture of sodium nitrite.
Sodium nitrate finds application in heat transfer salts, bulk intermediates, manufacture of glass and agrochemicals and pharmaceuical intermediates.
Sodium Nitrate can also be used as a source of nitrogen in the production of fertilisers.
