The Planning Commission on Friday cleared an investment of Rs 15 crore on an anti-erosion project along the Gangadhar river in Assam. The scheme, intended to protect two villages, Moisa and Belguri, in the vicinity of the Gangadhar river, is scheduled to be completed in the 2012-13 financial year, an official statement said.
The project is to be executed as per the approved outlays in the State Annual Plan. It involves the establishment of a 600-metre-long revetment and screens along the bank, as well as across the bank, at various locations.
