The Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, has said that women should be allowed to achieve financial and economic freedom. Creation of an enabling environment is the need of the hour, he said at a workshop here on ‘Enhancing development efficiency at the grassroots.' It was organised by the Janasree Sustainable development Mission and the Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Research. According to Mr Chandy, self-help groups constituted one of the biggest financial revolutions that the State has witnessed. The State government is willing to extend all possible assistance to organisations such as Janasree Mission for such activities, the Chief Minister added.
