The Centre is committed to playing its designated role in making different sectors of the economy vibrant and sustainable, said Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications (Independent charge) and Railways.

Speaking at the closing session of 2018 ICN Annual Conference in the capital, Sinha said that ‘fair and healthy competition’ — in the long run — is beneficial for businesses as well as consumers and this has a clearly positive impact on the economy as a whole.

He said that the Centre was relentlessly working to create a fair and conducive business and economic environment in line with the motto of ‘Minimum Government, Maximum Governance’.

Sharing some examples from the government of how positive competition helps reignite growth, Sinha said that “our mantra of competitive federalism is reflected in the States’ Ease of Doing Business Rankings; Swachhta Survekshan; selection for smart city and States competing for Central projects”.

The unfolding competitive federalism is the new reality of Brand India, Sinha said.

The three-day International Competition Network (ICN) Annual Conference was organised by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) from March 21-23 in the national capital.

The Conference brought together more than 520 delegates from 73 countries.
