The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has allowed project developers of Batch 1 – Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) Phase II to continue with their delayed project at their own cost and risk. While, the Renewable Energy Corporation of India will encash the bank guarantee for the such projects, it will not remove them from the selected projects list if an undertaking is given by the developer. The change has been notified in the guidelines for implementation of the scheme. Under Batch 1 – JNNSM Phase II, 750 MW of solar photo voltaic projects were to be bid out through viability gap funding. Of these, 680 MW was bid out and only 565 MW has been commissioned to date.
