The Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dikshit, today said the Delhi Government would soon send a detailed response on the Shunglu Committee findings on Commonwealth Games irregularities to the Home Ministry and ruled out action against anybody without a thorough probe.

Hitting out at the BJP for targeting the Delhi Government following the Shunglu Committee report, Ms Dikshit asked why the party was not taking any action against the Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, for his alleged acts of corruption.

“We are preparing a final report in response to the Shunglu Committee findings. It will be a paragraph-wise reply to every allegations. Our report is almost ready,” Ms Dikshit said replying to a question.

Ruling out any action against anybody on the basis of the report of the PM-appointed panel, she said various probe agencies such as CBI and Enforcement Directorate are investigating various irregularities and one should wait for their findings.

“Let the findings of the probe come out. We cannot take action against anyone without any proof. We cannot take action against anyone based on what BJP says. What about Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa. The BJP can only throw stones at others,” Ms Dikshit said.

When asked if the city government has received any communication from the Home Ministry asking to explain its position on the findings of Shunglu panel, Ms Dikshit said, “No”. “So far we have not received any communication from the Home Ministry. It may come today,” she said.

The Home Ministry has sent the report of the Shunglu Committee to the Delhi Government, the Delhi Development Authority and the New Delhi Municipal Council and asked them to explain their position on the findings of the panel within a month.
