Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Aishwarya Rai and several other celebrities have applied to attend competitive examinations in Andhra Pradesh, seeking a Government job. It sure is a mischief act by pranksters. This, officials have said, happened when Government notified some jobs.

“Why, some job seekers are even uploading sceneries too in the place given to upload pictures of candidates,” Mr J Satyanarayana, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA), said.

Taking part in a video-conference here on Friday, he asked District Collectors and other revenue officials to carefully screen applications to weed out such non-serious applications, while selecting the final list for written test to pick VROs (village revenue officers) and VRAs (village revenue assistants).

The Government has called for applications to fill up 1,172 posts of VROs and 6,668 posts of VRAs. Last date for this has been extended to January 19. It, so far, has received 10.80 lakh applications and is expecting 50,000-60,000 more.
