Indian business executive Sanjoy Chowdhury is to become chief executive officer of the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) this week.
Chowdhury, 53, has worked for a number of leading Indian corporations including Tata Group, Industrial Finance Corporation, Ispat Industries and Essar Oil. He has worked in Mumbai and Hong Kong.
He takes over from Hernaikh Singh who leaves SICCI to pursue other interests, SICCI announced today.
Chowdhury moved to Singapore in 1986 as chief economist for Asia Pacific at Merrill Lynch & Co.
