The City-based eye care service provider Sankara Nethralaya has inaugurated its unit at Sri City Special Economic Zone, near here.
Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Scientist and Director, Dr M Y S Prasad inaugurated the Sri City-Sankara Nethralaya Eye Hospital, spread on a 10 acre land at Sri City SEZ, situated in Tada, about 90 kms from here, a statement here said.
“We would like to extend our welcome to Sankara Nethralaya to Sri City. Our aim is to provide medical care at an affordable cost to the people of the region,” Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City SEZ, said.
The hospital, which commenced operations today, would initially provide tele-ophthalmology and mobile refraction unit to the people living in this region, which would be later extended to a research facility.
“We will reach quality eye care even to the remote parts of this region and Sri City will soon be the base of our research facility”, Sankara Nethralaya, Chairman Emeritus, Dr S S Badrinath said.
