Ukraine is looking for tie-ups in chemical, metallurgy, tourism, alternative medicine and energy sectors, according to Mr Oleksandr Shevchenko, Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

In an interactive meeting with the CII members today, Mr Shevchenko expressed that he is looking for more closer tie-ups with the Indian counterparts especially in the automotive, alternative medicine and energy sectors.

“Ukraine has strong tie-ups in Indian aerospace industry and is looking forward to strengthen its trade-business relations with India by exploring opportunities in sectors like chemical industry, metallurgy, tourism, alternative medicine, mobile power generation, oil and gas sector, and education, he said.

The Ukrainian Ambassador also pointed out that Ukraine is establishing a new agenda for growth, where they are considering business relations with India as a priority. “I am looking for a better co-operation between India and Ukraine to achieve a milestone in International Relations,” he said.

Ample opportunities

Earlier, in her welcome remarks, Ms Suchitra Ella, Vice-Chairperson, CII Andhra Pradesh & Joint Managing Director, Bharat Biotech International Ltd, pointed out that investors looking to set up small and medium-sized enterprises have ample opportunities in sectors such as textiles (knitting, clothing, hosiery), footwear, leather products and food processing (meat, dairy processing, sugar refining, oil extraction and starch and molasses production).

Ms Ella pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has done well over a period of time in sectors like automobile, energy, tourism, bulk drug, medicine and biotechnology.
