In a bid to meet demand from consumers this summer, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has entered into an agreement with the Himachal Pradesh government for the sale of 600 MW of power to the state.
“UPPCL has entered into an agreement with the HP government for 600 MW power, which will be available till September,” a senior UPPCL official said here.
The corporation is expecting 600 MW from its Anpara C project by May-end and the Harduaganj unit is likely to produce 250 MW by August. Furthermore, the 250-MW Paricha thermal plant is expected to become operational by October-end, he said, adding that this would be significant in meeting the demand for power in the state.
