Keeping in line with the Government’s Make in India and Digital India initiatives, the three-day expo on smart cards, RFID and biometrics, which concluded on Monday, saw the participation of 125 companies from 25 countries.

The expo focused on a wide range of issues such as the global and Indian manufacturing potential of smart cards and biometric devices, global technology trends and incentives to promote their local manufacturing. With the Government planning to also go in for Smart National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), the expo gave an opportunity for participants to display their products and technologies.

According to the organisers, participants received enquiries for collaboration. At the same time, players stressed on the need for close co-operation between academia, research and development and the industry for providing a boost to the smart card and biometric sector.
