Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd's (BSNL) Andhra Pradesh Circle has stood first in the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) era in the State attracting over 74,000 customers since the MNP facility was launched on January 20, a senior official said here.
“BSNL is doing exceedingly well under MNP in Andhra Pradesh. There have been more than 74,000 migrations into BSNL from other operators while 24,000 users opted out of BSNL under MNP which has crossed over 1 lakh in port-in requests,” the Chief General Manager of (AP Telecom Circle), Mr Rajeev Agarwal, told presspersons here.
“In terms of net additions 50,000 new customers opted for BSNL under MNP and it is a clear indication of customer acceptance of BSNL mobile service,” he said.
“This performance, which not only continues to be the best amongst all the BSNL circles, but is also making BSNL as the maximum net gainer amongst all the operators in the State,” Mr Agarwal said adding that the BSNL Andhra Pradesh circle has also seen a healthy increase in revenue and maintaining its highest rate of growth amongst all operators in Andhra Pradesh in activations of new mobile connections.
BSNL's 3G services has been well accepted in the Andhra Pradesh market and has over 1.54 lakh 3G connections in the State, he said.
