Chennai-based 8K Miles Software Services, a provider of cloud solutions, has acquired US-based mobile applications company Cintel Systems for $3.75 million in a combination of cash and stock.

The US-based company develops user interfaces for desktop, mobile and tablets across a wide range of industry segments. The asset purchase agreement includes acquisition of intellectual property, client contracts and employees.

“We continue to successfully implement our strategy of providing a complete SMAC solution across various enterprise market segments, and with the acquisition of Cintel, we are confident in our ability to expand the 8K Miles technical capabilities to provide even greater user experience for enterprises,” Suresh Venkatachari, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, 8K Miles, said.

This acquisition will further strengthen the 8K Miles portfolio of services offered to its customers in terms of variety and value, while providing greater opportunities for the employees, partners and associates. In addition, 8K Miles will gain the access to new enterprise customers previously acquired by Cintel, he added.

Last fiscal, 8K Miles had acquired Mindprint, a Canadian company specialised in providing SaaS analytics and operational software to clinical research organisations in North America.

Earlier in the year, it took over SERJ Solutions, a company specialised in providing EHR consulting, managed services and custom application development aimed to enhance the domain and cloud offering for healthcare providers.
