Communications technology provider Binatone on Monday launched a ‘3G data card with Wi-Fi Hot Spot’ having a direct USB power plug-in feature which offers anytime, anywhere Internet facility priced at Rs 1,800.

Binatone’s 3G data card comes with a normal USB interface and offers the flexibility of powering it with any USB port, which could also be used on-the-go, the company said.

Powered by a Qualcomm chipset, the data card is developed for small office, home-office users and business professionals on the move and families having multiple devices at home, the company said.

With support for a 32GB external micro SD card, this also serves as a portable storage device, the company said, adding that it will be available in major retail outlets and online retail channels.

“With the increasing population of smart devices and the Internet of things unfolding in a very big way, there is surely a need for an Internet hub to connect and engage multiple users and that is how we came up with the idea,” SP Singh, Country Head, Binatone, said.

With Binatone’s 3G data card with portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, users would have the flexibility to choose the operator and the most attractive data plans and yet share the benefits among five users/devices simultaneously, he said.

It has the SIM unlock feature through which one has the option to choose between different operators and the most attractive data plan offers.
