IT services company CSC has appointed tech industry veteran, Mr Narendra Nayak as the head of a new business unit focusing on India's domestic market.

CSC, which has a large offshore delivery presence in India, said that Mr Nayak will introduce the company's portfolio of technology services to Indian clients operating in sectors such as banking, insurance, manufacturing, healthcare and government.

Mr Nayak will report to Mr Brian Manning, President and Managing Director of CSC in India.

CSC offers IT services that straddle the cloud computing, cyber security, mobility, applications and infrastructure management space. The company also has business and technology consulting and systems integration capabilities. At present, CSC's India operations are the company's second largest globally. It has a team of 20,000 professionals across its development and delivery centres in Noida, Indore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Vadodara.

According to Nasscom, the software and services (IT and BPO) domestic revenue is slated to grow 15-17 per cent during FY12 to Rs 90,000-92,000 crore (against Rs 78,700 crore in FY11). CSC said that its own internal estimates peg the India-market Compounded Annual Growth Rate at about 16 per cent by 2014.
