Druva, a company specialising in enterprise laptop back-up and retrieval, has received $12 million in a Series B round of funding from Nexus Venture Partners and existing investor Sequoia Capital.

As a result of this new investment, Mr Jaspreet Singh, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Druva, has been named Chairman of the board. The board will also consist of Mr Shailendra Singh, Managing Director, Sequoia Capital; Mr Jishnu Bhattacharjee, principal, Nexus Venture Partners; Mr Ramani Kothandaraman, co-founder and COO of Druva; and Mr Yoram Novick, CEO and founder of Topio.

“As the explosion of data continues, and so does proliferation of endpoint device types and the mobility of the workforce, Druva has demonstrated a unique capability to address the challenges associated with enterprise backup and endpoint data protection,” said Mr Jishnu Bhattacharjee, Principal, Nexus Venture Partners.

Founded in 2007, Druva has amassed more than 750 customers and protects over 3 lakh endpoints worldwide, according to a press statement.

In April 2010, Druva had secured $5 million in Series A funding from Sequoia Capital and the Indian Angel Network.
