Global education solutions provider Educomp has received a Rs 67.93-crore order from the Maharashtra Government for implementation of information and communication technology (ICT) in 540 schools in the State.

The company's ICT division, Edureach, already has 10,550 schools in its portfolio under the public-private partnership model in 10 States, a company release said here on Monday.

Mr Soumya Kanti, President, Edureach, said, “Around 2.7 lakh students across these 540 schools in Maharashtra will now have access to computers and computer-aided learning which will bring their learning on par with many of their more privileged city counterparts.”

Contract terms

The project will be implemented in the build, own, operate and transfer model for a period of five years, including supply and maintenance of computer hardware, software and lab accessories, provision for computer faculty in each school, training of school teachers every year, provision of computer educational services including deploying and running school management software, multimedia educational software as per-State board curriculum etc, the company release said..

Educomp, with an employee base of over 10,000 professionals, serves 26,000 schools and 15 million learners and educators in India as well as the US, Canada, Singapore and Sri Lanka, the release added.
