IDEA Cellular launched its 3G services in Maharashtra today. Beginning with Pune, Nasik and Nagpur, the company will progressively roll out this service to cover 400 towns in the circle by the middle of the year, and over 750 towns at the end of the 2012 fiscal.
Mr Ambrish Jain, Director, Operations, Idea Cellular said: “Idea will target areas of industrial and commercial activity, centres of learning, and high potential rural hinterlands where broadband is yet to make a breakthrough.”
Idea has plans to set up over 1500 ‘Experience Kiosks' to provide a flavour of the services that customers can opt for and engage over 5000 promoters on the field.
