Venkart Ecom, a Hyderabad-based group has launched an exclusive eyewear venture in the growing e-commerce space.
LensPick.com will be an online e-Commerce portal operating from Hyderabad & Bangalore. It will focus on the eyewear industry marketing wide range of eyewear products both online and retail as well as its private labels, said Darshan Kulkarni, Vice-President, Corporate Investments.
The main promoters are Dilip C Byra, a former civil servant and Pavani Byra, a medical doctor. The Group has a subsidiary called Value Retail along with Value Vision, pharmacy and franchise stores in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The e-retailer is in talks with PEs and high networth individuals to raise up to Rs 25 crore funding to expand, Kulkarni said.
The present market size of eyewear industry in India is approx Rs 21,000 crore and expected to double in a couple of years. The company has entered into an alliance with Value Vision Optical Chain in the two cities.
