The future of computing and the challenges ahead were discussed at length on the first day of the two-day annual conference of the Indian chapter of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a global network of computer professionals, researchers and students here on Friday.

This conference brought together leading computing educators, researchers and professionals to exchange ideas, share resources and address the challenges.

Mr Alain Chesnais, President of ACM, and Mr John White, CEO of ACM, inaugurated the conference. A panel discussion on ‘Computing in India: A Retrospective' was also organised on the occasion, with Dr Mathai Joseph, Advisor, Tata Consultancy Services, Mr Harish Jagtiani, President of Intermark Corp and Mr Shashi Ullal, Director and Advisor, Intertec Software Pvt Ltd, among others, participating.
