An increasing number of operators are expected to invest in data optimisation technologies over the next 12 months to deliver quality user experience and drive revenue growth, a study by mobile VAS firm Mahindra Comviva said.
According to its study, conducted by Ovum Consulting, 60 per cent mobile operators are expected to deploy intelligent media optimisation within the next 12 months.
This will be driven by the need to deliver a consistent user experience and revenue growth, it added.
Currently, 20 per cent of mobile data operators are estimated to have invested in such tools.
“Data is the new growth category for operators in emerging markets. Intelligent context—aware application of optimisation techniques would enable operators to balance twin pressures of network and revenue growth,” Mahindra Comviva VP Internet and Broadband Solutions Madan G Onkar said.
