“Each of the employees has been spoken to personally by us, and they are all in good spirits,” Mr Jehangir said.

The company is also taking necessary steps to ensure that those who want to get back home are given the option to fly out once the airports become operational.

The software division of the company is based in Technopark here and the Vice-President-Marketing, is among those who are currently stationed in Tokyo.

FAMILIES CONTACTED

Earlier in the day, a spokesman for the NeST software division here said the company has got in touch with the families of the employees, assuring them of the latter's safety.

NeST has its office in Tokyo and customer sites in Nasu, Omika, Osaka and Nagoya, among others. The Tokyo office has been functioning round-the-clock and monitoring the situation closely.

A few among the engineers based in Omika (near Fukushima, Tohoku) where it has been taking a bit longer for normalcy to return, were the last to join the contingent in Tokyo, the spokesman said.
