Now you will be able to build and own your Web site at just Rs 75 a month. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has tied up with Akmin Technologies Pvt Ltd to launch ‘Mobile Web Site Builder Service' for its 8 million mobile subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai.
The service allows a user to create and publish a customised Web site within minutes using his mobile phone or PC. “The service will be a boon for everyone from small businesses to government offices that are looking to create a mobile and PC Web presence. The Web sites created on mobile phone are as good as on a PC and render flawlessly across handset models,” said a press release.
“An extensive suite of design templates, simple instruction prompts, no plug-ins and downloads, allow even novices to create a mobile and PC Web site,” said Mr Prashanth, Managing Director of Akmin Technologies.
Mr AK Bhargava, Executive Director - Wireless Service, MTNL, said, “This simple service will allow everyone from students, professionals, small offices, SME customers and government agencies to publish their mobile and PC Web sites to meet their personal and business requirements.”
To initiate the service, MTNL mobile users will need to send SMS “MSITE” to 55012 from their MTNL mobile phone.
“As India's Internet usage builds up, the need to quickly create and publish personalised Web sites will grow,” said Mr Sridhar Pai T., CEO of Tonse Telecom, an independent telecom research and consulting firm. “Indian Internet experience is largely on the mobile phone and this is a great way to create Web sites that work on all mobile devices and PC, increase business reach and is bound to trigger increased broadband traffic”.
