Sistema Shyam has said that 25 per cent of its revenues are coming from non-voice telecom services. Non-voice revenues for the company from both data and mobile VAS for the quarter up 33 per cent Q-o-Q to Rs 58.8 crore. The same has increased by two percentage points for the quarter. Sistema Shyam, which offers mobile services under the MTS brand, declared total revenues of Rs 236 crore in the first quarter which 22 per cent higher than the previous quarter.
The company's losses increased to Rs 666 crore in the first quarter this year from Rs 408 crore last year. During the quarter (Q1 2011), total wireless (voice and data) subscriber base was up 19 per cent to 10.05 million. Blended mobile ARPU for the quarter remained consistent at Rs 82. At the end of Q1 2011, SSTL expanded its mobile data services to 130 cities in India, including all five metros. The number of data subscribers increased by 36 per cent over Q4 ‘10 to 580,000.
