Twitter has updated its Android and iOS apps with photo editing features like Instagram.
The update allows the user to use eight filters while uploading photos. The filters are powered by Aviary - an online photo editing site that also has its own apps.
The update comes days after Instagram blocked users from posting to Twitter. Users found that they were unable to preview Instagram photos on Twitter. They had to click the link that took them to the Instagram Website.
Twitter’s move is aimed at those using apps such as Instagram and Streamzoo to edit and apply filters to pictures before uploading to the social web. The filter allows users to apply eight filters to the photos before uploading to Twitter. The user can view the effect of the filters in a grid view or swiping through each filter before applying it to the picture. Pictures can be lightened or darkened or can be “auto-enhanced”. The app also allows cropping of pictures.
