John Samuel, India head of Verizon Business, has put in his papers. Verizon Business is the enterprise subsidiary of the US-based telecom giant Verizon. The company offers connectivity solutions to large enterprises in the country.
“We can confirm that John Samuels has left Verizon. We do not comment on market rumours, or on the personal situation of current or former employees,” Verizon Spokesperson said when asked to comment on why Samuels quit.
According to industry sources Harsh Marwah, currently the sales head at BT India (formerly British Telecom) is likely to take over the job at Verizon.
Coincidently, Samuels was the Sales Director at BT between 2003 and 2007 before joining Verizon. Both BT and Verizon compete in the same segment in India. The two companies have long distance telephony licence under which they offer international bandwidth and a suite of enterprise solutions such as unified communications and network security.
