Bangalore-headquartered consulting and enterprise solutions company Aditi Technologies, which has around 1,300 employees, plans to increase its headcount by 30 per cent (around 390) in 2011-2012. Most of these additions will be in Bangalore.

The $90-million company, founded in 1994, is privately held. “We have no immediate plans for an IPO (initial public offering). We want to focus on expanding solutions and concentrate on differentiation. For us, focus is the key,” Mr Vineet Arora, Managing Director, Aditi Technologies, told Business Line .

The company uses the Microsoft platform. When asked if this was a limiting focus, Mr Arora said the Microsoft brand had helped the company a lot. “When you focus exclusively on Microsoft, Microsoft will put a bet on you. They give you better support and bring better leads to you.” He said the strategy has paid off, and the company had witnessed 30-40 per cent growth over the last three to four years.

When asked if Aditi wanted to look beyond Microsoft, Mr Arora said, “Strategy is about choosing what not to do.” It is important for a mid-sized company to stay focused, and Mr Arora said the company's emphasis on areas like mobility and cloud computing was helping it to target divisions within large user companies that were looking at new technologies. As an example, he said, cloud computing was useful for companies for reasons like operational efficiency, enabling new businesses and agility. Aditi was able to target companies in this space because it was focused on areas like this. “Who will buy from you? And why? We need a differentiator.”

The company is also looking at expanding to a tier-II city in 2011-2012, and is assessing various cities, including Coimbatore, Jaipur and Chandigarh.
