Telecom major Bharti Airtel today announced that its African unit has appointed former executive of South Africa-based telecom operator MTN, Anwar Soussa, as the Managing Director for Airtel Chad with effect from May 1.
Soussa takes over from Salia Gbane who will leave Airtel on April 30.
“As the new Managing Director, Anwar will be responsible for revamping Airtel Chad’s commercial capabilities, whilst building a superior network that will continue offering Chadians a competitive customer value proposition,” Airtel Africa’s Chief Executive Officer, Christian de Faria, said in a statement.
Soussa joins Airtel from MTN Cyprus where he served as the Chief Operating Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the American College of Greece and a Master of Science degree in Marketing from Concordia University, Canada.
