Arbitron Inc, an international media and marketing research firm, has expanded its facilities to increase the scale of India operations.

The company has opened a new facility in the Tejomaya building off L&T Techpark, located in Infopark, Kochi.

The inauguration of the new facility provides Arbitron India an additional 20,000 sq ft of space, bringing its total operational space in the L&T Techpark to 65,000 sq ft.

When Arbitron first opened the India facility in November 2008, the company employed 16 full time employees. Today, it employs 250 employees and consultants.

Mr Scott Henry, Arbitron's Chief Information Officer, who opened the new facility, said that the company is always looking for ways technology can be leveraged to enhance its services. We're also examining ways to use technology to translate the PPM (Portable People Meter) service onto different platforms.

Arbitron India plays a key role in extending the uses of the company's technology and provides operational support for its PPM service, the leading portable, passive and personal measurement service.

Mr Gigo Joseph, CEO, InfoPark Kochi, said that the expansion of facilities by existing companies in InfoPark would automatically attract more IT companies here which would create more career opportunities in the State.
