Taiwan-based ASUS has launched Chromebox, a 12x12 cm compact home or office computer, in India. The Chromebox, which runs on Chrome operating system, comes shipped with Haswell processors and supports ultra high definition video playback.
“There has been an increase in demand for small form factor mini personal computers and home theatre personal computers and the Chromebox would be a great alternative for such applications,” said Vinay Shetty, Country Head (Component Business) at ASUS (India).
“This is a new vertical and part of our consumer product line,” he added.
The Chromebox comes with in-built virus protection and updates automatically, and is shipped with 100GB of free Google Drive space for two years. It is being launched in three variants with prices starting from ₹21,000.
