Online matchmaking platform BharatMatrimony launched the Progressive Web App (PWA) that offers an app-like experience on smart phones with low bandwidth.
The app loads instantly even in patchy networks, offers better user experience and reduced data consumption for users. It will be beneficial for users in tier 2 and 3 ties with low internet bandwidth, according to a press release. Users can experience this version by accessing mobile.bharatmatrimony.com on an Android phone.
This move comes as a result of significant hits coming from 2G networks, falling data costs and more tier 3 users coming into the platform.
Saichithra S, Chief Portal and Mobile Officer, Matrimony.com said in the press release that the company sees the need for enhanced user experience on the mobile site as more users from tier 3 towns, who will be using low memory devices.
