Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Call2Action Communication India on Thursday partnered to create a mobile advertising ecosystem through promotions, designed specifically for mobile network operators. Called Infomo, the platform will be available through the ‘MyBSNL’ app and the company will provide advertising and promotion content to users during routine everyday interactions such as calls, SMS, alerts, notifications, beacons and other location-based interactions.

“Ads will be delivered on the consent of the subscribers and reward points will be there on each ad that they click to view,” Anil Jain, Chief General Manager, BSNL, told presspersons here. The platform will be available from July.

Targeted at youngsters, he said the advertising platform can be used by other subscribers too whether it is Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio or Vodafone India, but after the consent of the users, which will be taken through SMS.

“Anyone in India can of avail this service by simply downloading the MyBSNL app from the Google and Apple play stores. Once you sign up for the app, you can select the kind of content you want to receive on your phone. Based on your preferences, appropriate content will be automatically delivered to your mobile and you will be eligible for multiple rewards,” Ananda Rao, Founder and Director, Call2Action Communication, said.

For instance, based on the accumulated points, a customer could simply pay for a monthly mobile plan, book a movie ticket, avail of discounts on food items and many others. “Our partner, Happiest Minds, will provide nationwide integration services. To make this app useful, we are also bringing new capabilities from technology companies like Voxvalley Technologies (OTT voice and chat), ManageMyHealth (electronic health records) and DreemAR (augmented reality),” Rao said.

Call2Action Communication is part of Singapore-based Talisman Telecom Pte Ltd, which provides solutions in mobile advertising and promotions service.
