Capgemini appoints Srinivas Kandula as CEO of India operations

French IT services firm Capgemini has appointed Srinivas Kandula as the CEO of its India operations effective January 1.

Kandula has replaced Aruna Jayanthi, former CEO of Capgemini in India, who has moved to a global role within the Group. Kandula also joins the Capgemini Group Executive Committee.

“Since the acquisition of IGATE, India has become even more strategic to our global business roadmap. Srini’s rich and diverse experience across key business functions, notably at IGATE, will help Capgemini in India to play an enhanced role in the Group’s future growth plans,” said Paul Hermelin, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Capgemini.

“I congratulate Aruna for her tremendous contribution to the growth of Capgemini in India during her tenure as CEO and wish her the very best as she takes charge of a new global Business Services unit.”

Srinivas Kandula, CEO, Capgemini India, said, “Capgemini in India currently has over 87,000 employees, which is nearly 50 per cent of the Group, and caters to over 800 customers globally. As we move forward, our agenda is to leverage our strong people capabilities for sustained growth and add to our client-centric innovation practices. I am honoured to lead Capgemini in India at this juncture and to help India to strategically align and contribute towards the Group’s vision.”

Kandula had joined IGATE in 2007 where he was formerly EVP, Member of the Executive Council and Chief People Officer, responsible for driving IGATE’s Business Strategy, Human Resources, Quality Management and Marketing portfolios globally.

He played a key role in the acquisition of Patni by IGATE in 2011 and of IGATE by Capgemini in 2015. He has also spearheaded both integration processes.

Kandula is a Doctoral Fellow from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He has published over 60 papers and 8 books on Management in international publications and in multiple languages.
