Cloud computing is gathering momentum. Companies, small and big, and governments are taking to private, public and hybrid clouds to reduce capital expenditure on infrastructure and maintenance. CtrlS, a cloud services firm based in Hyderabad, has launched ‘Community Cloud’ service brand Cloud4C to address the specific needs of companies in a specific industry vertical in a specific geography.

“You need to conform to specific set of regulatory, security and other compliances. For example, banks need to follow a set of regulations and security compliances. We have built a Community Cloud for verticals like banking to support mission critical applications with near zero downtime and zero data loss,” Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, told BusinessLine .

The datacentre firm is currently offering Cloud4C services in the US, India, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Thailand. The firm is planning to have datacentres in 40 countries by the end of 2018 with an investment of ₹1,200 crore. The datacentre footprint would include five countries in Europe, Russia and China. In India, it will commission datacentres in Noida and Bengaluru by this year-end.

“Our Community Cloud for Banks, called Bank-in-a-Box, would let banks, including the new players, to adopt to technology in no time. Besides the security concerns, compliance standards, interoperability and governance issues are addressed to ensure secure and smooth functioning of banks,” he said.

“We have also built a Community Cloud for Government (G-Cloud), following guidelines set for public, virtual private and Government community clouds. The one for ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) lets quick deployment of SAP-certified infrastructure to run critical business applications,” he said.

As many as nine banks adopted the Bank-in-a-Box Community Cloud and 50 enterprises joined the SAP Community Cloud in India.

Hiring plans

The company, which employs about 1,000, is going to increase the number by 50 per cent.

“We are going to hire 500 more in the next few months to support our expansion plan. About 80-85 per cent of them will happen in India. For our global datacentres, we will prefer to hire majority of the workforce locally,” BS Rao, Vice-President (Marketing) of CtrlS Datacenters, said.
