CtrlS, a leading data centre company, will set up a centre in an upcoming campus in Hyderabad. The company has signed an agreement with the Telangana government to set up the campus.
The company had started its first data centre here eight years ago. “The Union Government is evolving a policy that will mandate organisations to keep information in data centres located in India. The campus will attract data centres from across the world,” Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao said, after announcing a policy here on Thursday.
Nasscom has agreed to set up a Centre of Excellence in Data Sciences. A Nasscom representative signed a pact with the Telangana government here on Thursday. The IT industry association will also help the government in developing an ecosystem to promote data science in the State.
The Data Security Council of India (DSCI), an arm of Nasscom, will help the government in evolving a Cyber security strategy and a Cyber Security Index for the industry.
A number of agreements have been signed at an event where the Telangana IT Minister launched four sector-specific policies within the IT domain. These policies are aimed at giving a focussed approach to develop Cyber Security, Datacentres, Data Analytics and Open Data.
For Open Data, the government has roped in Factly, a Hyderabad-based start-up that is into analysing publicly available government data. It will help the government in building a portal to offer all the relevant data to the public.
