Sets up war rooms to monitor its network

Vodafone Idea Ltd (VIL) has set up war rooms to monitor its network and has readied its teams to manage any emergency situation to ensure ensure connectivity as cyclone Nisarga closes in.

“We are prepared to face the cyclone Nisarga forecasted to hit the western coast and are taking all necessary precautions to keep the networks safe,” VIL said in a statement.

“If required, we will work with other operators to open Intra Circle Roaming (ICR), and will work closely with partners and Government agencies to ensure stable telecom connectivity during the cyclone to let people stay connected with their loved ones,” it said.

Despite the current lockdown situation, the company is working on ensuring sufficient fuel supply to sites, and stocking at strategic locations for use in times of emergency. It has also arranged mobile diesel generator sets, critical equipment spares and vehicles and kept them ready at key locations.
