In a first of its kind offering, fashion tech start-up Zapyle.com is all set to let shoppers discover, buy and sell from 3,000 of the best pre-owned fast fashion, premium and luxury fashion brands on its site.

Zapyle will go live on July 15 bringing together India’s top 20 fashion bloggers, each of whom have 50,000–1,00,000 fans, TV actresses, and models who will open up their closets for shoppers to discover and buy their favourite brands from Vera Moda, Chemistry and Mango to Ritu Kumar, AND, Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Burberry and many more.

“Two years ago, I’d look at my own closet with an assorted collection of unopened, unworn shopping bags and still find myself saying, I have nothing to wear. Every woman’s closet holds a huge inventory of clothes that rarely get worn or are just lying there unused. Statistics reveal that most of us use only 20 per cent of our clothes 80 per cent of the time. I wanted to create a marketplace that assists pre-loved clothes and accessories in finding homes in new wardrobes, so nobody will ever feel that they have nothing to wear. That’s how Zapyle was born,” Rashi Menda, Founder and CEO, told BusinessLine .

Targeted at millennial in the age group of 18-30 years in Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities, who are always on the lookout for new styles to wear, all the pre-owned fashion wear sold on Zapyle are priced from ₹800 to under ₹1 lakh.

“We are a bootstrapped venture and will release Zapyle in three stages. On July 15, we will go live with the closets of all the fashion bloggers, TV actresses and models for shoppers to discover. From August 1, only registered users on Zapyle can upload their own closets for sale. From August 15, anybody will be allowed to upload and sell their fashion wear on the site,” said Menda.

The Zapyle mobile app for iOS and Android will also be available from July 15. “We are targeting an average ticket size of ₹2,500 with 200 orders a day by March,” said Menda.
