Technology adoption by SMEs continues to remain relatively low, as these enterprises either do not have the capacity to set up a separate IT department or find it difficult to retain the IT talent.

“The onslaught of digitisation has left them gaping,” says Sameer Vakil, Co-Founder, CEO, GlobalLinker.

GlobalLinker addresses this shortfall in areas such as payment issues, scaling, logistics, networking powered by algorithm-based match-making, Vakil told BusinessLine. GlobalLinker enabled SMEs connect with each other.

This Mumbai-based company, has since its inception in 2015 brought over 250,000 firms from 150-odd countries on to its platform, digitised their content – be it catalogue, profile or business cards and helped them discover opportunities across geographies.

This is embedded with the payment gateway and logistics company as well. Effectively, we help create a B2B marketplace. In Coimbatore alone, there are over 1,000 SMEs using this platform.”

GlobalLinker has partnered with the Telangana Government, Retailers Association of India, Bombay Industries Association, World Trade Centre, Mumbai and The Federation of Indian Exports Organization (FIEO).

Six trade associations are in discussions with GlobalLinker to co-brand and to onboard 55,000+ additional SME members in these associations.
