Google has finally rolled out the dark mode for all Gmail users on the iPhone and iPad after announcing the feature for its Android 10 users back in September 2019.

Apple users can enable dark mode for the Gmail app on iPhone and iPad via the latest update 6.0.200519 on the Apple Store. Users can activate dark mode within the app using the hamburger icon on the top-left corner. Gmail currently has three different options for its overall theme- Light, Dark, and System Default.

Previously, Apple users could enable dark mode for apps across the phone using a system default option from the phone’s settings menu.

For users of iPhones using iOS 11 or iOS 12, a Dark theme toggle will be available instead of a Theme sub-menu in settings for them to enable a system-wide dark mode.

As for Gmail, Google has gradually been implementing a full rollout for dark mode across all of Google’s apps, comparatively slower than other platforms. Last month, Google had enabled the theme for its Google app for on Android 10 and iOS 12/13 users.

So far, the tech giant had enabled the dark theme for Gmail on Android along with Google Calendar, and Google Fit for android and select iOS users. Google Maps is yet to support dark mode.
