Lenovo India and HCL Infosystems on Monday has tied up to strengthen Lenovo’s consumer retail and commercial business by leveraging HCL’s sales, distribution and after-sales support network.
This is part of HCL Infosystem’s strategy of focussing around retail and servicing of computer peripherals after it discontinued its personal computer manufacturing business last year.
According to the partnership, HCL Infosystems will sell and support Lenovo’s entire portfolio of PCs and tablets, as well as enhance their existing cooperation in the distribution of tablets, through its wholly owned subsidiary -- Digilife Distribution and Marketing Services.
“HCL Infosystems provides an unmatched distribution network and extensive service coverage especially in the enterprise segment. Using this partnership, Lenovo will be well placed to tap a larger piece of this market on an incremental basis, thus enhancing the company’s market share,” Amar Babu, Managing Director, Lenovo India, said.
HCL Infosystems is one of the top distributors in India in terms of revenue with distribution network of more than one lakh retail outlets, 800 direct and micro-distributors, and over 400 channel partners across 15,000 towns and 664 districts in India.
