The Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) will hold the 26th edition of its annual summit and awards function on July 27.

To be jointly organised with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), the event is expected to be attended by over 1,000 delegates, including 150 start-ups and 200 leaders of various IT companies.

“This year’s edition would have four verticals — Tech4Good (social startups), Artificial Intelligence meets SaaS (Software-as-a-Service), Reimagining entertainment, Chips and Unblocking the Chain,” Murali Bollu, President of HYSEA, has said.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said the summit would focus on design, innovation and on product start-ups.

Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao would take part in the event.

Awards will be presented to companies that excelled in IT exports, productivity and product development. Over 150 IT product development companies would compete for awards in different segments.

Membership drive

HYSEA, which represents exports to the tune of ₹97,000 crore from the State, has begun a drive to double the membership to 600 from the present 300 members in the next two years.

“We have recognised the need for helping small and medium companies in upgrading the skills of their workforce in the emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Data Analytics and Blockchain,” Murali said.

“We have been organising workshops and knowledge sessions,” he said.

STPI Director (Hyderabad) CVD Ram Prasad said that the growth of IT exports from the State in the last four years had been impressive. “The growth rate in IT exports is more than that of the national average,” he said.

“It, however, is important to grow the industry beyond Hyderabad to smaller towns,” he felt.
