The 18th edition of IndiaSoft, a B2B event to be organised by Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) in Bengaluru, will promote software product exports, according to Nalin Kohil, Chairman, IndiaSoft Organising Committee.
The event to be held on January 24-25 in Bengaluru will be attended by over 250 information, communication and technology exporters and over 400 delegates from nearly 60 countries, including Argentina, Tanzania, Thailand, France and Japan, he told newspersons.
Today, nearly 95 per cent of software exports is of solutions while size of products is very negligible. “We want Indian exporters to increase export of software products by providing a complete package,” he said.
The event will also provide a platform for IT companies, especially small and medium size, to diversify into new and emerging markets, including Africa, West Asia and South America.
Sanjay Chadha, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industry, said the department has asked all States to come out with export strategies to help them increase exports. The department has started giving data on exports from each State and across all commodities, and from various ports. This is to help States know where they stand in terms of exports, and also strengthen their weaknesses in various areas in exports.
Chadha also urged States to utilise the Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme launched last year to help exporters. After delinking of ASIDE Scheme in 2015, State governments have been requesting Centre’s support to create export infrastructure.
