Domestic mobile brand Karbonn Mobiles on Tuesday announced its partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to integrate Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) app in its latest smartphone K9 Kavach 4G.
The K9 Kavach 4G, priced at ₹5,290, is powered with finger touch sensors to secure all digital banking transactions and information as well as to ensure the safety of the device, the company said.
“Through this partnership, our aim is to promote a cashless economy by educating people in tier–II and III cities and rural areas about digital transactions and the benefits of the same,” Pardeep Jain, Managing Director, Karbonn Mobiles, said here at the launch.
The new offering will target consumers who are still averse to digital transactions owing to security concerns, the company added.
