Sterlite Tech has appointed Intel Corp’s Kumud Srinivasan to its board of directors, effective May 22, 2018. As a non-executive and independent director, she will be on Sterlite Tech’s board for a term of five years.

Kumud Srinivasan, who was Intel India President from 2012 to 2016, is at present Vice-President and Director of Non-Volatile Memory Fab Manufacturing and Automation Systems at Intel Corporation.

She has spent 30 years at Intel in US, leading multiple global functions, prominent ones being R&D for technology manufacturing, industrial automation and Internet of Things for manufacturing facilities.

“Drawing on extensive experience with Intel in various lead positions, Kumud Srinivasan will provide fresh insights to our technology and business priorities as we continue to transform our business with new market entries and unified data network offerings,” said Sterlite Tech CEO Anand Agarwal.

Now based in Portland, USA, Kumud Srinivasan graduated in Economics from Calcutta University. She followed this up with an MLS, School of Information Studies, Syracuse University, before pursuing a doctoral programme at the School of Information Studies in University of California, Berkeley.

Her experience in key industry domains, including Internet of Things, R&D, manufacturing and semi-conductors, will be invaluable to us as well as our customers globally,” said Pravin Agarwal, Vice-Chairman, Sterlite Tech.

Sterlite Tech board also accepted the resignation of Avaantika Kakkar, non-executive and independent director.
