A budding entrepreneur from Kerala has launched a ‘personal safety' portal to create awareness on general safety updates, rules to follow, and featuring emergency numbers which members of the public need to know.
Personal safety has never been of such a huge concern, says Mr Arun B. Nair, a budding entrepreneur and the brain behind the portal aptly named Swa-Raksha.
But not any longer, especially after a series of incidents in the State involving helpless women travelling alone.
The portal has become operational from the International Women's Day, Mr Nair said.
People are being pushed out of trains, molested at bus stops, eve-teased on the streets, robbed on the highways, left bleeding to death on the roads or even attacked inside their homes.
www.swa-raksha.com would be the layman's answer towards preventing and taking precautions against such catastrophes in life, says Mr Nair.
On swa-raksha.com, people can discuss their experiences and share their knowledge regarding safety at work, home and while travelling.
Mr Nair claimed that this is the first multi-platform ‘safety' portal where people can network, collaborate and take steps towards a safer future.
Swa-Raksha is a non-profit endeavour promoted by the Parivartan Corporate Training Academy, a soft skills training organisation specialising in experiential learning and personal development.
Parivartan CTA has also come up with a unique training programme for women, titled ‘Woman 2.0' to empower women against assaults and related danger.
