ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corporation (which is focused on facilitating small and medium businesses and start-ups manage their IT infrastructure themselves), plans to kick off user conferences in India this year.

Sridhar Iyengar, Vice-President, ManageEngine, told BusinessLine that the company has been conducting such conferences regularly in Europe and the US till now. “Now that we have established our presence in India, we are planning to conduct the conference in select cities to start with. “The format of the conference proposed here would be slightly different. It is expected to be more of an educational and awareness creation initiative. There is a healthy ecosystem of start-ups here and this will enthuse interest among SMBs,” he said

The company is eyeing Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi among other cities to kick off the awareness.

Stating that with new technologies and trends emerging in the IT space, the company forayed into enterprise IT management services and further into cloud based applications over the years.

“We have constantly looked at improving the depth and breadth of our offering. Such conferences and the feedback that we get from the online community have helped us address issues that SMBs face in the existing set up.

“For instance, IT teams in SMBs and start-ups are generally a one-man show. They can ill afford to monitor their IT infrastructure themselves or pay for software that they perceive is quite exhaustive for adoption in small business. As a result of this, the different software packages exist in silos. To address such issues, ManageEngine has designed products with a freemium version, targeted exclusively at SMBs and start-up companies. With these tools, such small businesses can evaluate and run IT for free. They can consider buying the software as the business grows,” Sridhar Iyengar explained.

The corporation has been regularly investing on such tools and has over 50 free tools to monitor and manage any IT issue.
