Motorola today launched its Moto Z and Moto Z Play smartphones in India, along with enhancements called Moto Mods. The phones will be available for purchase on Amazon and Flipkart starting October 17.

The Moto Z, priced at Rs 39,999, comes without a 3.5mm audio jack, a la Apple’s iPhone 7. Motorola also claims that the phone is the world’s thinnest premium smartphone, with a girth of 5.2mm. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and comes with 4GB Ram and 64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2 TB. Moto Z gets a 5.5 inch Quad HD AMOLED display, with a 13 megapixel rear camera equipped with optical image stabilisation, and a 5 megapixel front camera with flash. The phone also has a fingerprint reader, and packs a 2600mAH battery, which the company claims offers up to 24 hours of battery life. It is also equipped with fast charging.

The Moto Z Play, at Rs 24,999 also has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with full HD. Unlike the Z, it also has a 3.5mm audio jack. Powered with 3GB of RAM space, it features an Octa-core processor, with 32GB internal memory, expandable up to 2TB. It has a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera with flash. The phone is juiced by a 3510mAH battery, with fast charging.

Moto Mods are enhancements, which when attached magnetically to the Moto Z and Moto Z Play, can add features. Some of the Mods on offer are a JBL SoundBoost speaker, a Hasselblad True Zoom Camera, and an Instashare projector. When bought with the phones, these enhancements come with discounts.
