Smartphone-maker Xiaomi on Wednesday forayed into the laptop segment with the launch of the Mi Notebook Air in China.

The 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air features an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card, 256GB PCIe solid-state drive (SSD) and runs on Windows 10 operating system.

A smaller 12.5-inch variant that weighs only 1.07kg will also be available. This will be powered by Intel Core M3 processor with integrated graphics, 4GB RAM, 128GB expandable SSD and runs on Windows 10 operating system.

The Chinese company also expanded the Mi range of smartphones with the launch of the Redmi Pro.

Redmi Pro is Xiaomi's first phone to feature dual rear cameras.

With Helio X25 10-core processor and Mali-T880 GPU, the RedmiPro is the most powerful in the range.
